Fox Tetra pak print

This is a little fox illustration I made by making a printing plate from a tetra pak carton.

Tetra pak dry point is a really interesting intaglio printing technique. The ink in the lines scratched on the plate is squeezed out when rolled through the press to create dark lines. A lighter coat of remaining ink on the plate prints in relief. Wiping the remaining ink in some areas more than others creates interesting tones and highlights and makes each print unique. A limited number of prints can be made before the recycled plate starts to break down.
