Bull Island Bathers – hare on Dollymount

This illustrations shows a hare and its friend at the ladies bathing shelter, on the Bull Island.  The iconic art deco shelters that dot Dollymount and Clontarf were designed by the architect Herbert Simms in the 1930s.  Their concrete forms, with their pops of colour are a real addition to the landscape and seascape.  Unfortunately the hare is now extinct from the Island since between 2016 and 2019.
